About
Us
We created
eXaminator
out of our own need. We, too, have
been students and suffered the incredible anxiety of test taking.
Between us, we've taken literally hundreds of important multiple choice
and essay tests throughout our lives and careers.
It was during a medical
school test that Dr. Dirk de Brito came up with the brainstorm that later
became
eXaminator.
We've always believed that to do the best, you put together the best
team possible. With that in mind,
we approached Tom Thinesen, watch designer extraordinaire, who immediately saw
the value in our product. We've
been working together ever since, fine-tuning and preparing
eXaminator
for students everywhere.
Dirk
de Brito, MD MPH is a Board certified Psychiatrist with advanced residency training in Psychiatry. He is
focused on test-taking psychology and has a special interest in helping
children with Attention Deficit Disorder. His creation of
eXaminator
stems from his personal experiences as a student over the course of twenty-five
years. From the PSATs right
through the specialty medical boards, he realized how important pacing was to
success on exams. He graduated from Yale University in 1986, after which
he ran his own successful contracting and developing business. With the
profits, he was able to put himself through medical school.
He graduated with both an MD as well as a Masters in Public Health from
Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City.
Lauri
de Brito has management and executive experience stemming
from more than twenty years in the television industry.
She has production experience at both cable and network levels and her
credits include: "E! Entertainment Television," "Lifestyles of the Rich and
Famous," HBO, Showtime, VH1's "Behind the Music," "Extra," and most recently, the NBC women's series "Life Moments." She
holds a Bachelor of Science from the Newhouse School of Communication, Syracuse
University. She recently used
eXaminator
for a real estate license exam and aced it!
She can't wait for her own daughters to be old enough to benefit from this
exciting invention!
Tom
Thinesen has twenty-five years experience in electronics
design and engineering, including a decade as Product Engineering Manager for
Timex Corporation in Waterbury, Connecticut.
Tom created and designed the Ironman watch series, one of the best selling
watches in history, at over 17 million units and counting.
He personally holds 12 patents, issued for both software and hardware.
In addition, Tom has prior experience at start-up electronics
manufacturing firms, having managed and helped Litronex, Inc., in 1979, set up
a watch design group, as well as being part of a start up called Time Unique in
1976.
